Novel western architecture built by Japanese in Taiwan

Taiwan used to be a part of Japan 50 years ago. 

The Japaneses constructed numerous impressive architectures in Taiwan. These architectures can be classified into two categories:traditional Japanese style and novel western style.

This article focuses on the architectures of novel western style.

Japanese tradtional architecture in Taiwan

Taiwan used to be a part of Japan 50 years ago.  The Japaneses constructed numerous impressive architectures in Taiwan. These architectures can be classified into two categories:traditional Japanese style and novel western style. For instance, Butokuden and the famous Shinto shrine are traditional Japanese styles. Butokuden are places for practicing Japanese martial art, and as to the Shinto shrine, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinto_shrine. There are at least eight Butokuden and at least fourteen Shinto shrine in Taiwan. Taiwan's Presidential office building is one of the novel western style architectures built by Japanese. Since this was the Japanese's first time trying to build western-style architectures, the architectures can only be seen in Taiwan but not in Japan nor in any other countries in the world.  This article focuses on the architecture of Japanese style.
